Environmental Monitoring
A golf course
environmental monitoring program is a valuable way to get feedback about
the effectiveness of your best management practices, as well as increase
involvement in stewardship projects. This presentation discusses
different approaches to monitoring, from chemical water quality analysis
to fun activities involving youth; recordkeeping; interpreting results;
and getting the word out.

provides practical, low-cost solutions to improving environmental
quality and reducing risks within the maintenance facility.

Offered in
cooperation with GCSAA, this seminar helps participants
integrate sound
environmental practices into daily golf course operations and build
support for these efforts among staff, golfers, and the community.
Attendees gain practical tools for improved environmental performance in
several key areas, including: turf, water use and quality, and
landscaping and habitat conservation. A half-day seminar on this topic
can also be arranged.
Managing the Nature
of the Game
(8 hour seminar)
(Formerly Wildlife
Management and Habitat Conservation)
Offered in
cooperation with GCSAA, this seminar offers techniques and tips for how
to manage natural areas on the golf course, attract desirable wildlife
species, address problems, and conserve golf course habitats for the
benefit of nature and the game of golf. Half-day seminars and shorter
presentations can also be arranged.
Outreach and
Education Made Easier
This presentation
discusses the unique opportunities that golf courses have to highlight
environmental projects and includes communication strategies that are
vital to garnering good will and cooperation from golfers, greens
committees, neighbors, and the community.
